G177 Balenciaga: From 3XL to Thin-Soled Shoes
Following Loewe and Bottega Veneta, I noticed Balenciaga has also started releasing thin-soled shoes: Gradient Lines and Radar, which are very stylish!
These models seem to be Balenciaga’s main offerings, and many resellers have started posting about them; some styles are already sold out.
This contrasts sharply with the “tire shoe” aesthetic previously represented by Balenciaga. For example, the 3XL, with its exaggeratedly thick outsole, was practically a fashion symbol for several years.
Currently, the narrative logic of fashion is shifting from “stacking height” to “being close to the ground.”
As someone working in the barefoot shoe industry, I’m very happy to see this trend.
It will still take time for the public to truly understand barefoot shoes.
But the popularity of thin-soled shoes will significantly shorten this cognitive path.
